Woodville has the files. This corner of southwest Mississippi keeps its Circuit Clerk, Chancery Clerk, and Justice Court at the county seat, each with a different slice of the caseload. Felonies and larger lawsuits belong to the Circuit Clerk. Divorces, estates, guardianships, and land matters belong to the Chancery Clerk, while tickets and small claims sit in Justice Court. A Woodville or Centreville citation stays with that town's court. State the court, then the case. With those two facts, a Wilkinson County court docket question rarely needs a second call.

Choosing a Wilkinson County Docket Route

Pick your route before you search. A broad county-name sweep will not do the work for you. Wilkinson County splits its court docket across several doors. Circuit Court is the general civil and criminal trial route. It is also the main jury-trial court. Chancery Court takes equity, family, estate, guardianship, land, and related matters. Justice Court is a key lower-court route. It handles limited civil cases, initial felony proceedings, misdemeanors, and traffic outside municipalities. City traffic and ordinance cases start with the municipality that issued the ticket. Youth matters carry special confidentiality limits, so treat that docket differently.

Do not invent a county-court layer here. None sits between Justice Court and Circuit Court when you hunt for a civil or criminal docket. The Sixth Circuit District and the Seventeenth Chancery District each serve Wilkinson and neighboring counties. So when a district result comes back, confirm it truly belongs to the Wilkinson County court you need.

Note: A county name alone is not enough to establish the court that holds a docket or the office that can release a public copy.

What a Wilkinson County Court Docket Shows

A docket is the court's running list of filings and events. It will not tell the whole story of a dispute. Restricted document content may be left out. What a public Wilkinson County court docket does well is show the court, when each filing was entered, any hearing setting, and whether an order or judgment should be requested from the clerk. Exact wording and event detail vary with the court and the level of access you have.

Case numberThe court’s unique identifier. Use the full number supplied by the clerk or MEC rather than inventing a local format.
Filing dateThe date a pleading or case was accepted, not necessarily the date of the underlying event.
Docket entriesChronological filing, order, notice, motion, or event references that may link to public documents when access permits.
SettingA scheduled court event with date, time, court, and setting type. Confirm the newest notice or order.
Status or flagA court-defined workflow marker such as stayed, sealed, appeal, mediation, or trial pending. It needs context.
DispositionAn outcome recorded by the court. Read the official order rather than treating a label as a complete explanation.

Wilkinson County MEC Docket Transition

Electronic filing did not arrive everywhere in Wilkinson County at once. The official Seventeenth Chancery MEC CourtInfo page lists March 11, 2019 as the go-live date for Wilkinson Chancery Court. For Wilkinson Circuit Court, the official Sixth Circuit MEC CourtInfo page gives March 31, 2025. Those gaps explain why a current electronic docket can coexist with older paper or legacy-file questions.

A blank remote result never proves that no Wilkinson County case exists. Ask instead where the relevant year lives: in MEC, a scanned index, a paper file, or an archive. The state bar's 2025 MEC notice tracks statewide implementation. But it cannot confirm that every historic county file was digitized. Nor can it confirm that Justice, Municipal, and Youth Court records sit in the same system.

Which Wilkinson County Courts Keep Dockets

Every docket belongs to a particular court and its clerk. Treat this as a starting map rather than a promise of remote searching for each category. Even public court records may require a clerk request, a courthouse terminal, paid PAMEC access, or a restriction review.

CourtDocket coversWhere to start

Wilkinson County Docket Access Options

PAMEC is not an anonymous public search box. The non-attorney terms describe registered, paid, read-only remote access to non-restricted electronic court information. Published figures include a $10 annual registration amount for Attorney and Non-Attorney accounts. They also list $0.20 per page. Any search that returns no match still carries a one-page charge. Note that registering for access does not grant authority to e-file on a case.

The MEC procedures also allow free electronic viewing of filed civil and criminal MEC documents. That viewing happens at a courthouse or clerk office during regular hours. Copies still carry statutory fees. So two practical Wilkinson County docket routes exist: a registered remote account for eligible material, and in-person viewing or clerk help for everything else. Neither route opens sealed, expunged, youth, or protected-person material.

The official PACER access overview shows how federal courts run docket access on a separate system. It does not replace Mississippi MEC. But it helps a reader tell a federal docket request from a Wilkinson County state-court one.

Federal and state docket systems do not share records. Confirm the court name first, before any time is spent in the wrong portal.

Finding Wilkinson County Court Dates and Settings

Confirm any Wilkinson County court setting through the current case notice, order, docket entry, or the clerk. An annual district term calendar gives useful context. Yet it never promises that a particular case will be heard on every day of a term. Circuit and Chancery courts serve multi-county districts. A judge assignment or term block is no substitute for a case-specific setting.

The Wilkinson County court calendar lays out the published 2026 term blocks and safe ways to verify a case date. For a Justice Court citation, the appearance information printed on the citation controls. Municipal calendars are city-specific. The county posts no countywide municipal calendar or public daily docket-call page.

Wilkinson County Term Dates and Dockets

Wilkinson County terms for 2026 are set well ahead of time. Chancery convenes for six days at each term. Terms begin the second Monday in April, the first Monday in August, and the second Monday in December. The 2026 Circuit calendar spreads further. It runs four weeks beginning the first Monday in February, and one week from the second Monday in April. Three more weeks start the third Monday in June, and four weeks start the first Monday in October. Carmen Brooks Drake is named on the Circuit entries for those designated terms.

Term dates are a planning aid, nothing more. A case can be reset, continued, specially set, or moved outside the window you expected. Justice Court holds jail sessions three times each week for initial appearances. No fixed weekdays are published, though. For the real appearance date, trust the citation itself or a confirmation from the clerk.

Term
A scheduled court block in the annual calendar, not a promise that every case will be called.
Setting
A scheduled event in a particular case, which may change by notice or order.
Continuance
A later setting authorized by the court or reflected in the case record.
Stayed
A proceeding paused by order or legal event, not necessarily dismissed.

Public Access to Wilkinson County Court Dockets

Mississippi's Public Records Act sets the baseline for county administrative records. Court files carry a separate judicial-access caveat. When you ask the county for Board of Supervisors minutes or other nonjudicial records, be specific. Name the custodian and spell out the scope. State the format you want, and request an itemized fee estimate if needed. A court-file request works differently. Tell the clerk which court, which case, and which document you need. Say whether you want a docket sheet, a plain copy, or a certified record.

Mississippi access rules:

Miss. Code §25-61-5 sets the written-request, response, denial, and separable-redaction framework for public bodies.

Miss. Code §25-61-7 permits actual-cost search, review, duplication, and mailing fees, including advance collection.

Miss. Code §25-61-10 addresses electronic records and available formats.

Judicial records may instead be governed by applicable court rules, seal orders, and MEC procedures.

Wilkinson County Restricted Docket Records

Access to Wilkinson County dockets is not uniform. MEC flag lists cover sealed status, and Circuit adds expunged status too. Chancery shows protected-person and fiduciary flags. Among them are Minor Ward, Adult Ward, Guardian Plan, Conservator Plan, TRUST, and well-being reporting. Youth Court, adoption, medical, financial, protected-address, and certain probation or investigative materials can also carry limits.

A restricted result is not a puzzle to solve with alternate spellings or broader searches. Ask the clerk instead whether a public redacted copy or docket sheet exists. Ask which access rule applies, and whether any segregable nonexempt material can be released. And never read "pending," "bound over," or any status flag as a final outcome. Only the actual docket event or order tells you the result.

The Wilkinson County Clerk and Docket Records

The Circuit Clerk is the main local route for Circuit filings. That covers civil and criminal cases, indictments, motions, judgments, executions, jury matters, and marriage-license records. The Chancery Clerk runs a separate Chancery route. It handles divorce, estates, land, guardianship, and Board of Supervisors records. If your visit is time-sensitive, call first. The clerk can confirm the right court, the index, and the fee. The clerk can also say whether the material sits in an electronic system or a legacy file.

Wilkinson County Docket Custodians

Naming the right custodian makes any records question easier. The Circuit Clerk will not handle estate or land cases for the Chancery Clerk, and neither office takes the place of the Justice Clerk for a county Justice Court citation. The Justice Court's current state-directory contact is Keyondra Jarvis, P.O. Box 40, Woodville, MS 39669-0040, telephone 601-888-3538. Before requesting a record, ask which Justice Court district holds the matter.

Court Dockets by City in Wilkinson County

The official 2020 Census source lists three incorporated places in Wilkinson County. They are Centreville, Woodville, and Crosby. A municipal traffic or ordinance case goes through the city route named on the citation. Circuit, Chancery, Justice, and Youth Court records all follow the county court route. Crosby deserves extra care. The town straddles Amite and Wilkinson Counties. None of the three places offers an official public municipal docket portal.

Centreville Court Docket

2020 Census population: 1,258. Confirm whether a citation names Centreville Municipal Court or a county court.

Woodville Court Docket

2020 Census population: 928. County courthouse records and city municipal matters use distinct routes.

Crosby Court Docket

2020 Census population: 242. The town’s Amite-Wilkinson boundary makes the issuing court essential.

Wilkinson County Federal Docket Route

Federal cases sit outside the Wilkinson County state-court docket system entirely. The local federal trial route runs through the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. That court sits in the Natchez Western Division. Federal case research starts with PACER's court lookup or Case Locator, never PAMEC. Bankruptcy goes to the Southern District of Mississippi Bankruptcy Court. District-court appeals land in the Fifth Circuit.

Start at the official Southern District of Mississippi site. It is the place to begin for federal court information, and PACER's charges and access rules stand apart from Mississippi MEC. CourtListener/RECAP can serve as a free secondary source. However, it is not complete and may not be current.

A federal court case is a different animal from a county state-court case, and the two files never merge. The PACER pricing page lays out the federal system's separate remote-access charges and fee policies.

Check the current PACER price page before any federal search. That keeps federal charges from blurring into a Mississippi clerk copy request. The Fifth Circuit handles appeals from Southern District cases.

An appeal opens its own federal docket. The district-court number and the appellate record are not one file.

Map and Directions to the Wilkinson County Courthouse

Circuit and Chancery Court files are both kept at the Wilkinson County courthouse, 525 Main Street in Woodville, though the Circuit Clerk and Chancery Clerk use separate mailing boxes for correspondence. Justice Court is a distinct office reached through Clerk Keyondra Jarvis rather than a courthouse counter, so a Justice Court citation should be handled by phone or mail rather than a courthouse walk-in. A Centreville, Woodville, or Crosby city citation stays with that town's municipal court instead.
